FAQs about the Balanced Body System

Q: What does ‘balanced body’ mean?

A: A body in balance is free from symptoms of poor health and excess body fat. A balanced body has abundant energy and recovers quickly from all forms of stress and exertion. A balanced body achieves peak performance in all areas and is created through a tailored nutrition and exercise program.

Q: In what way is this approach a ‘system’?
A: This is not a quick fix; it is a complete approach to wellness. It is a ‘system’ because it has several components that work synergistically towards one goal – optimal health and peak performance.

Q: Is the BALANCED BODY SYSTEM a diet?
A: BALANCED BODY SYSTEM is not just a diet. In fact, some BALANCED BODY SYSTEM clients don’t want to lose weight at all, they simply want to be healthier and more balanced. Many clients also find they need to eat a lot more when they embark on this program.

Q: What is the difference between BALANCED BODY SYSTEM and other wellness programs?
A: The BALANCED BODY SYSTEM differs from other wellness programs by providing a personalized, customized plan that includes nutritional supplementation, exercise coaching and personal counseling. The distribution of protein, fat and carbs is your nutritional plan is tailored to your metabolic requirements. The Balanced Body System is grounded in solid principles of human physiology and scientifically validated through research.

Q: How does having a balanced body relate to my losing weight?
A: By tailoring the ratio of protein, carbohydrate and fat to your body’s unique processing pattern, you provide your body with the right ‘mix’ of fuel to burn as energy. The wrong mix of ‘fuel’ is not burned by the body, rather, it is stored as fat. Like putting gasoline in a diesel engine, it not only causes the engine to stall, it can cause serious damage.

Q: Do I have to do a lot to be healthy?
A: The answer depends on your current health status, but most people are surprised by how simple the changes actually are. Many people aren’t that far from optimal health for their genetics and just require a little ‘tweaking’. Then again, some people have years of extremely poor health habits behind them, and may require a complete overhaul in lifestyle to be truly healthy. No program ever has to start at 100% though. We can work with the individual on a slow, gradual basis so the changes are as painless as possible. Most people find that within 4-6 weeks, they barely have to think about what they are doing.

Q: Do I have to workout to make the BALANCED BODY SYSTEM work?
A: With any positive change in body composition, regular activity is a must. Your results will be slow and take much longer without exercise and you are more likely to plateau. That said, the BALANCED BODY SYSTEM can accommodate many exercise regimes, and the exercise recommendations can be tailored to your needs and lifestyle.

Q: I don’t have a lot of excess cash flow. Can I afford the BALANCED BODY SYSTEM?
A: There are programs for every budget. Any positive change in nutrition or lifestyle will produce results, so if you cannot afford the version of the program you think you need for optimal results; start with a more manageable variant of the program to get you going in the right direction. You can have a cutting edge personalized program, professional support and top quality supplementation for as little as $50/month!

Q: Why are supplements an integral part of BALANCED BODY SYSTEM?
A: Complete nutrition is critical for optimal health and the release of body fat. If your body senses a nutrient deficiency, it thinks that it is starving, and will hold onto body fat as a means of self-preservation. You can overhaul your nutrition and exercise habits and still be deficient in many crucial nutrients because our food sources simply don’t contain the amount of nutrients today that they once did. We incorporate nutritional supplements in our program because of the well-documented fact that unless you have access to vine-ripened, organically grown, foods year-round your modern food sources are deficient. Supplementation is no longer simply an option for optimal health, it is critical. We recommend a particular brand because it is the highest quality of supplementation that is standardized, proven to be effective, and synergistic – the products are designed to work together to enhance the their respective effectiveness. In terms of which particular supplements are best for you, please discuss your specific health issues and goals with your BALANCED BODY SYSTEM consultant.

Q: Can I take my own nutritional supplements rather than those recommended by the BALANCED BODY SYSTEM?
A: Yes, you can supplement your diet with your own vitamins, but we don’t recommend it unless you have a particular deficiency in a certain area (e.g., low iron or a history of osteoporosis). Many people who mix and match supplementation actually cancel out the effectiveness of the individual supplements because certain products are not designed to be taken with other products. The supplements we recommend are designed to work together. The quality of these supplements is guaranteed to be consistent in content and bio-available to our bodies.

Q: How do BALANCED BODY SYSTEM food choices/portions compare with other diet plans?
A: Unlike some diets which are very restrictive (e.g., ruling out all or almost all carbs), BALANCED BODY SYSTEM is balanced. Other nutrition plans recommend the wrong fuel ratio for most genetic types and this includes most people who need/want to lose weight. Some plans give you a specific caloric intake per day, but don’t give instructions in terms of when, and in what combinations, to eat those calories, so they don’t protect against glycemic overloading. No plan with the BBS involves deprivation or eliminating certain foods. Portion sizes are reasonable and you can still have all your favourite foods when you learn the right quantity and timing for your body.

Q: Is BALANCED BODY SYSTEM simply a diabetic’s diet?
A: It is ideal for diabetics, but BALANCED BODY SYSTEM is not what official diabetic education recommends. Most diabetic ‘diets’ incorporate the glycemic index, but very few correctly incorporate glycemic load. Also, diabetic diets don’t account for the different genetically influenced metabolisms of diabetics.
