I found out about The Balance Body System after I entered a draw for a free consultation at a Women’s Retreat that I was attending. At the time, I thought to myself, as I often did over the years, that it would be nice to lose weight and be healthy but it had always been a passing thought.
On the day I met with a Balanced Body Facilitator I was at a point in my life where I was ready for change. I was ready to lose weight, not only for my health’s sake but also for my own happiness. It was then that I decided that I would try The Balanced Body System and was determined to succeed.
Being significantly overweight (up to 250lbs) over the years has caused me many health problems as well as poor stamina, poor immune system and had given me very low self-esteem. While I waited for my shakes to arrive, I worked on my goal plan and read through all the information my Facilitator provided me. I wanted to start the plan with all the tools I needed to succeed.
When I started on the recommended food plan I found it hard, at first, to eat according to my body type. Giving up most of my starches and significantly increasing my proteins seemed overwhelming at first but my Facilitator encouraged me to gradually work into my diet plan and by doing so it was much more attainable. By the time my meal replacement shakes arrived, I had not only determined to work really hard on eating properly and losing weight but I had also given myself permission not to get discouraged or quit if I failed in my diet plan on any given day (something I had done many times before).
To my amazement, I started losing weight right away. I was amazed because no diet plan had ever worked before. After being on the Balanced Body System for about a month, I found I no longer craved sweets and junk food. In fact, I now find that if I try to eat these things they don’t seem to taste as good as they used to, making it much easier to avoid them.
I know this time is different because I have the determination to follow my plan faithfully and have stuck with it despite occasional days where I have made poor diet choices. I’ve also had the benefit of a wonderful Facilitator behind me who has always been there to encourage me and hold me accountable but also has supported me and not judged me through days where I made poor choices.
Not only have I lost 19lbs, so far, I have also lost many inches of fat. I was a size 3X and now fit into an XL. It has been so exciting to go shopping and have a greater selection of affordable, more becoming clothes. As the pounds have started to drop I have gained more energy and more stamina. I have begun walking to and from work at least three times a week (an average of 40 minutes of walking each time). This is exciting for me because I have never had the energy or stamina to do this before. Losing weight, dropping dress sizes and gaining more energy and stamina has also given me much more confidence. Especially, when so many people have noticed the change in me and have commented on how great I look and how much happier and energetic I seem to be.
With the aid of The Balanced Body System (my diet plan, my meal replacements, my facilitator and the weekly modules) and my willingness and determination to succeed at having a healthier body weight, I know that this time I WILL succeed. |
