I had been an athlete at one point in my life – played basketball at the post-secondary level in my early 20’s, and so for most of my life, never had to worry about my weight – felt I could eat what I wanted as long as I was active, etc. However, I’m now 36 years old, and over the last 10 years, have seen my weight slowly but steadily increasing, even though I was still trying to eat right and stay active. After the birth of my daughter a year ago, I was finding it really tough to lose the 25 pounds I’d gained and was not feeling nearly as energetic as I thought I should for my young age.
When Sharleen told me that I would not only lose weight but would also no longer experience the cravings for sweets that had dominated my life for so long, I honestly didn’t believe her, but decided to try the program because it sounded good (too good to be true!) and I knew I needed to do something different than what I’d been doing.
I was totally impressed and amazed that Sharleen was right on all counts. I started dropping pounds and inches immediately and consistently and my cravings subsided. I feel in control of my food intake for the first time EVER in my life! My body is finally getting what it needed! I am leaner now have more energy than I’ve had in a very long time. I’m actually wearing skinnier jeans than I wore when I played University basketball – and that’s after having had a c-section delivery of my baby!
I drink lots more water than I did before and eat more times during the day (5-6) to keep my metabolism working for me, and for my body type. I’ve learned that I need more protein and less carbs in my daily diet to feel satisfied and healthy. I’ve also started a fantastic workout regime that has played an important part in helping me get back to a great place of health and fitness. I feel great and see this program as something I’ll be doing for life!
